Getting paid

Your employer set up a stream for you and sent you its stream NFT. That NFT is your pay: whoever holds it collects. Keep it in a wallet you control, and don't sell or send it unless you mean to hand your pay to someone else.

When you get paid

Your terms set a dollar amount per payday and how often paydays come. On each payday the stream looks up the DIESEL price as of that day and converts your dollars to DIESEL at that rate. That DIESEL is yours from then on.

The price is fixed on the payday, not when you collect. Collecting a week later, or after the price moves, changes nothing about how much you get.

If you were owed back pay, it arrives on the first payday, priced on that day.

Collecting

Your NFT comes back to you in the same transaction either way.

Your cost basis

Every payday is recorded with its time, the DIESEL price used, the dollars and the DIESEL paid. Bonuses and advances are recorded the same way. The app shows the full history and exports it as CSV, which is what you'd hand to an accountant.

Some rows carry a flag:

What your employer can and can't do

They can change your terms going forward, pay you a bonus or an advance, and (if your stream is cancelable) stop future paydays.

They can't take back a payday that has already come, change the price it was paid at, or pull your DIESEL out of the stream. If your stream is non-cancelable, its terms can only get better.

There is one exception, and it's deliberate: the pool's offline SIGIL key can recover funds if something has gone badly wrong. See Security and the SIGIL.

If the pool runs short

If your employer's pool doesn't hold enough DIESEL on a payday, the amount is still fixed at that day's price and recorded as owed to you. You get it after their next deposit, and until then they can't withdraw it.
